Retired Iowans Supporting Education

Recent tax changes have made retirees exempt from the education surtax. This savings allows retirees to retain their finances, and also means there is less money supporting Iowa Schools. A group of retirees came together with a brilliant idea: RISE (Retired Iowans Supporting Education.) Their goal is to support the local schools by using their tax savings in a unique way.

RISE believes that education is the key to a brighter future for the children of Mount Vernon. By pledging a portion of your tax savings, we can continue to support our school district.

Through annual pledges, you can tailor your giving to both your financial picture and preferred selection of District goals each year.

Each year, the Foundation will provide a menu of pledge categories to help pledges make the biggest impact.
